Another spot in my quaint neighborhood Linda Vista, Kyrios Mariscos #2 is a Meican Seafood Taco Truck serving daily in the corner of Linda Vista Road and Ulric, which I consider the heart of Lnda Vista. This place usually has a lot of tacos eating there every day. I've only been here once before and considered it decent. Whenever I get the craving for Fish Tacos, I usually go to Kiko's in Mission Valley, but it is usually good to keep you options open. Last time I was here, I got the fish tacos, and the shrimp ceviche. I remenber the fish taco being pretty decent, almost being on par with Kiko's. As far as the shrimp ceviche, they serve it tradition (as in raw, letting the citrus "cook" the seafood). I've done both the fish and shrimp ceviche at Kiko's , and both used cooked seafood. The treditional raw shrimp ceviche didn't agree with my stomach, so proceed with caution
On a Tuesday night, I didn't feel like cooking so I decided to visit Kyrios, as I visited and reviewed the San Diego Taco Truck across the street.
The menu (presented in both English and Spanish) is pretty extensive with different types of seafood, (fish, shrimp, octopus) and beef (asada or birria). They are presented at either tacos, burritos, rolls, or fries. They also have various other entress and appetizers such as ceviches, oysters, and soups.
Prices are similiar to other trucks, although a smidge cheaper than Kiko's. The asada tacos are pricier than the San Diego Taco Truck across the street. As wish a lot of Mexican restaurants and trucks, they have Taco Tuesday specials, with fish tacos at $1.75. The shrimp and asada tacos at $8.76 and $3.75 don't seem that special of a price (as San Diego Truck has asada tacos at ~$3 every day. There are daily combos (some with drinks) and most seems to be a decent price.
There is some tables set up as a makeshift dining area. Usually when I drive by, there are usually alot of locals/regular eating there. There is also a salsa area with squeeze bottles filled with various salsas of various spiciness. There's also a bin with limes, and onions. You have to ask for the containers.
This visit, I opted for the shrimp cocktail and two fish tacos.
The shrimp taco came with a choice of crackers ot tostada shell. I opted for tostada shell. The cocktail sauce was more clamato juice. It was plenty tangy with some avocado and lots of minced vedetables such as tomatoes, onions and I believe celery. The shrimp were pretty big although they seemed to skimp a little bit with the number of shrimp. It was mostly cocktail juice. Still was tasty. Price-wise, a little steep, but it was offset by the price of the fish tacos.
As far as the fish tacos, they were dressed pretty well with the cabbage, tomatos, pico de gallo, and decent size of fish. Not sure what kind of white fish they use, but most likely cod? I'm not a good guesser for types of fish.
I was a bit dissapointed with these and were not as good as I remembered. I got this to go, and it was not a long drive home (maybe 5 minutes or less). My main disappointment was that there was no crunch to the fish filetl. It wasn't even that hot. Maybe the filets were sitting around to a bit. The first time having fish tacos here, I was distinctly and metnally comparing them to Kiko's fish tacos and came to the conclusion that it was almost as good. This time, they were definitely not comparable. For $1.75, you can't really go wrong. Not sure if the quality went down since it was a Tuesday and they probably churn out alot fish tacos that day. They also don't serve complimentary fish soup as Kiko's does (which is a nice perk)
Kyrios is a decent truck and worth a visit as an alternative to Kikos, or the other trucks nearby. I've yet to try the other tacos but I'm sure I wll be back. The staff is pretty nice too and no wonder they seem to have alot of regulars. Give 'em a try
Just across the street is the San Diego Taco Truck which I reviewed last week. I've yet to eat at San Diego Bakery but a visit will be forthcoming. Kyrios is open mostly during the day whereas Sa Diego Taco Truck opens at 5pm until late night.

Nice post. My sources had told me that this truck wasn't very good so I never did check them out.
